About Us
Our company was founded in 1982
by Bill Schmidt and his two
brothers, at the Island Center,
where Sawatdy's Restaurant is
now located. In November of 1987
the company moved to 150 Winslow
Way where we resided for 17
years.
For those of you who have seen
the growth of Bainbridge Island
in the past 20 years, you can
probably recall what a "ghost
town" Winslow Way was like on a
Saturday. Parking was never a
problem. Today it still remains
a great activity to park your
car and meander about while
taking in the great Pacific
Northwest air and friendly
meetings. However, it's
difficult to deny the inherent
hassle of today's downtown
traffic, which we all use to
love. While our little quaint
town has evolved and grown, we
have been fortunate to grow with
it.
 To
better serve the needs of our
customers and our business
alike, we recently purchased and
moved into a new location at 750 Ericksen Avenue
in November, 2004. This gave us
5000 sq ft and 22 parking
spaces, all within a little
quieter part or downtown! With
ample space, 3 "live" kitchen
displays and the same hometown
service you have come to expect,
Schmidt's Home Appliance and
Sleep Center is the place to go
for all of your home appliance
needs including delivery,
installation as well as parts &
service.
